04/18/00 Red Wyrm Visits Wisp

Late Tuesday night, I was sitting in the Wandering Wisp Tavern, just chatting with a few guildmates, when I suddenly thought I was dreaming...

But, no, the others had seen it too...

We all ran out of the Wisp quickly to have a better look. After a few minutes we found the apparent vision again, sitting on the ground and surrounded by a herd of cows, just to the west of the tavern.

This vision we realized was indeed a quite real ancient wyrm and a bright red one at that. As we approached the wyrm, we saw him kill one of the cows and tear flesh from the carcass.  The wyrm then growled deeply.

Breti, Knight of KOS, had the courage to greet the wyrm and ask him if he could speak. The wyrm replied, "Much better than you, little one...."

We asked the wyrm a number of questions.  Invariably, the wyrm turned the conversation back to the subject of his hunger....

"What are you, little one?
Do you taste good?"

*sniffs*
*points at those without armor*
"Less work... easier meal"

"Bring me food... now!"

One of our company, Thoma Valient, sacrificed his horse to feed the wyrm.

When asked why he had come to Elysium, our town, the wyrm only replied with questions:  "Elysium, is that what you call this place...?  Why did you build a town on my hunting grounds?"

Perhaps the wyrm will return one day. I think we should stock up on raw ribs, just in case.

03/27/00 Sword of Sacrifice

Monday, 03/27/00. Just a regular night at the Wisp, I thought... And then I saw this strange little man come in the door, all dressed in gray and carrying an unusual blue book. His name was Gregory Ironhand, Grandmaster Tinker.

He sat down at a table and I gave him a bottle of ale. Gregory started talking, and as the conversation went on, he told us about his project involving a mechanical dragon. An "automaton," he called it. Since we expressed such interest in his creation, he offered to take us to see his workshop.

Outside the Wisp, Gregory tapped his staff on the ground and a gate appeared. We went through, and found that we were on Jhelom's north island. Gregory's workshop was quite a remarkable place with many oddities.

He talked more with us about his mechanical dragon, and he also told us about a magical sword that he is interested in obtaining. A desire to help the old man and a few shreds of information in hand, we travelled to Vesper to look for a man named Valthorp, who was said to have last had the sword.

We found Valthorp in the tavern. He muttered a few phrases over and over... What we were able to understand from him was that the sword was taken by brigands to Buc's Den. We soon headed to the isle of pirates. After searching a few buildings for clues, we came across a large number of brigands in the tavern. We slayed every last one of them, but failed to find the sword.

A man named Eugene was comfortably seated in the back room of the tavern. Hoping he could help in some way, we began to talk to him. Trinity's story about her ailing sister and Breti's gold finally coaxed him into giving us some information about the sword. Apparently, it will be on a boat leaving this Friday, stored in a secret compartment in the hold. Soon after this, I said "goodnight" to the group as I was quite tired and still had some other business to attend to.

Zappa, Bart, Breti, Trinity, and Rhoan Lee continued to search the island for clues and any signs of the boat. I'm told they fought quite a few more brigands and mages before leaving the island that night and returning to the relative safety of Elysium.

03/25/00 Trinsic Liberation Festival a Success!!

It was a beautiful night for a celebration. The city of Trinsic was returned to it's pristine state. One would hardly know of the terrible battles fought there. Yes, it was a grand day for the Trinsic Liberation Festival.

The people gathered at the southeastern square for a feast and a discussion of the virtues. The horses were lined in formation along the square as the party goers enjoyed the roast boar and wine. K-Li talked of our virtues and what each meant to us. A new way to live our lives for some, a reminder to many of what we try to be each day.

After the feast, the contests began:

The Poetry Contest - Reported by Gwendolyn, Knight of the KOS-
Though a small crowd had gathered in the Keg and Anchor Tavern, it took some persuasion to get entrants in the Poetry Contest. Perhaps they just all came to listen...

Once the event got underway, we had eight contestants: Gotter McVay, Reminsence, GreyPawn, Pillager, Pyros, Tarin, Aleph Aeirs, and Wildboy. Each of them bravely stood in the middle of the room when their turn came and read aloud a work that spoke of matters of the heart and soul. Doing so took courage, I can assure you.

Many of the poems read were so good that it took us judges some discussion to chose the winners. In the end, the prizes were awarded as follows: Gotter McVay, 1st place; Reminsence, 2nd place; and Aleph Aeirs, 3rd place. Thanks to all who entered and to the wonderfully well behaved audience!

The Magery Contest-Reported by Callisto Gabriel, Squire of the KOS-
Many folk gathered at the Southeastern Square near the Trinsic Docks to both watch and take part in the Trinisc Liberation Magery Contest. My thanks to those who participated in the event: Hicks, GreyPawn (HoA/MTC), Avondale (Ncr.), Wildboy (SK), and Molly (2ST). I would also like to thank Sir Deadalotte for his unwavering ability to drop dead at the sight of a mere fireball.

The contest went as follows: Each mage was required to cast Invisibility, Gate Travel, and Resurrection. The mage with the least amount of failed attempts would be the victor. As expected, all of the competitors were excellent mages. At the end of the first round, Avondale and GreyPawn were tied for first place with zero fizzles. Wildboy and Molly were tied for third place with two fizzles.

The deciding spell was chosen, and Sir Deadalotte prepared himself to be sent to the gray one final time. The first Mage to fizzle the spell of life would place second. *Insert Dueling Lute Music Here* GreyPawn and Avondale began to chant the magic words and each successfully resurrected poor Sir Deadalotte several times. Perhaps GreyPawn got a hold of some bad milk, for on his third attempt, he could not bring the poor soul back. Avondale was crowned victor of the contest and took his check for 5,000 gold pieces. GreyPawn took second place, but refused his winnings of 3,000 gold saying only, "Give this to Trinsic".

Molly and Wildboy began the dance of the dead for third place. It was a tense competition, but Molly won out taking 1,000 gold pieces for her trouble.

Again, my thanks to all who were there for this celebration of magic. I had a "blast" myself.  *wink*

The Archery Contest-Reported by Rhiannon, Guardswoman of the KOS-
People began to gather at the Trinsic buttes to pay their entrance fees and warm up their bow strings about half an hour before the event was to begin. The excitement grew as the practice bullseyes were shot, and it became evident that the competition would be tough. The contestants were obviously quite skilled.

There was a total of eight contestants. Each one shot ten arrows and the three highest scores won. Grunwald (KOS) and Trekonn (KOS) tied for third place; so a tie breaking round was shot. Trekonn took third place and was awarded 1K gold (which he donated to the Trinsic Council), Servantes (THG) took second place and was awarded 3K gold and the Trinsic Liberation Archery Contest winner was Roxanne (Ncr.) who was awarded a check for 5K.

I'd like to thank Callisto, Servantes, Trekonn and all the great archers who participated, for making the Trinsic Liberation Archery Contest such a fun and successful event.

Overall, this event proved that those of varied professions and lifestyles could come together and rejoice. My thanks goes out to Mayor Nova, the Trinsic Council and the Trinsic Honor Guard for sponsoring such a fun filled night!

03/25/00 Corrupted Shrines!!

"Tis not corruption...tis just a renaissance of arts." -- Grunwald

Minax, once again, has shown her power. Five shrines corrupted about three days ago. Those shrines, once represent the virtues, are now very artistic. As a Knight of Sosaria, I will fight Minax. But in arts..she is better than most of the people I know of. Go Min..um..never mind.. Here are the shrines we visited yesterday. Thanks for all people who tag along with me.
