09/28/99 Tips For Neophyte Healers

If you are interested in learning the healing skill but did not come to these lands with some knowledge of it, this article might help. To raise healing at skill levels below Apprentice, the only way is to heal injuries. Trying to cure poison is too difficult for you and will not help. The amount of injuries to be healed is a major factor in acquiring skill gain. It is best to heal yourself or another who has lost 70 percent of his hit points or more. You can do this in combat or when sparring with friends. But there is another way if you want to work on this skill when your friends aren't around and when you want to stay under the protection of the town guards.

In the lands of Britannia, there are a few cliffs that you can fall off of. Each time you fall, you will be slightly injured. One of these cliffs can be found in the city of Britain, just to the west of the Cavalry Guild Hall along the river. Find a good spot, walk over the cliff edge, and then turn and walk back. Do this several times until you are quite injured and then use a bandage to heal yourself. Your skill should improve rapidly.

Thank you, Gannon, for helping with the research for this article and for helping me gain further knowledge in this field.

09/27/99 Supplemental Report on the Archery Contest Results

The Britannia's best archers concluded at last. Leaving no doubt behind... These three archers received the highest recognition in the world of bows and arrows. From more than fifteen best archers in the Britannia, they managed to prove them self as the best.. They are: #1 Zappa (20.000gp prize winner), #2 Callisto Gabriel (10.000gp), #3 Roxanne (5000gp).

However, some scoundrel stained this Contest. After the winners concluded, some contestants, still believing they were the best archers, tried to wreak havoc upon this Contest. But... it was only a small stone in our big step. Congratulations to those three archers!! May the force of string be with you!

09/26/99 Elysium Archery Contest

The First Annual Elysium Archery Contest was held this evening in the open field west of the Wisp. The contest had 14 contestants in all and about 35 attendees. We even noticed that a fellow named Robin Hood attended the event. Each contestant was given a GM crafted bow and shot three summoned earth elementals. The number of arrows taken to kill each elemental was recorded. The four archers using the least number of arrows went on to the final round. In the final round, each archer shot three summoned earth elementals and the number of shots were recorded and tallied. In this way, the winners were determined. The final four contestants were: Callisto Gabriel, Couller, Roxanne, and Zappa. Zappa took first place for a prize of 20,000 gp; Callisto Gabriel took second, 10,000 gp; and Roxanne claimed third place with a prize of 5,000 gp. Congratulations to the winners! A good job was done by all that competed. Thank you for making the First Annual Elysium Archery Contest a success!

09/25/99 Citizens of Elysium Town Stone Placed

Ahriman, the Town Clerk, erected the guildstone for the Citizens of Elysium this evening. The guildstone is located on the steps of Elysium Magicka. I spoke briefly with Ahriman about this monumentous event in the development of the town. He told me that Rhiannon was the first Citizen to join the stone and that plans for the town include electing a mayor. Anyone who wants to join the Citizens of Elysium should contact Ahriman or leave him a message with Lady Nova.

09/24/99 Sage Visits Wisp

An old woman named Astelle has visited the Wisp four times this week that I am aware of, the last being this evening. She tells of a cursed warrior, a beast of fire, a fallen knight, and a lost goddess. None of us really understand her stories, but we feel compelled to help her. (In the picture I have taken, Astelle is the woman sitting at the bar holding a staff.)
